Prof. Salisu Shehu

The Executive Secretary
Salisu Shehu, PhD, is a Professor of Educational Psychology with the Department of Education Bayero University, Kano. Born 1966 in Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State of Nigeria, Shehu holds a Bachelor of Arts (Ed) from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), M.Ed. (Educational Psychology), BUK and PhD (Educational Psychology) from Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He worked with the Federal College of Education (Tech.), Gombe 1990-1994 after which he joined the services of BUK in 1994.

He served Bayero University, Kano in various capacities ranging from Level Coordinator to membership of the University Governing Council, University Management Committee, University Senate (2x), Postgraduate School Board and Committee of Deans and Directors. He was the Pioneer Director of the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), Pioneer Dean of the School of Continuing Education and a former Director, Centre for Islamic Civilisation and Interfaith Dialogue. Dr. Margaret Taiwo Lawani

Director Special Programme Centre
Dr Lawani worked briefly as a secondary school English Language teacher in both Ogun and Ondo States before resigning her appointment to take a carrier as a Lecturer in the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, one of the foremost Federal Government Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

Dr Margaret Lawani has a wide experience in teaching and research. Over the years, she has garnered professional, administrative and technical experience in the areas of curriculum development, language development and book development. She has published many articles in learned journals and contributed chapters to many reputable books in the areas of Language, Literature, Language Education and Curriculum development. P. T. Anande, Esq

Director Human Resources Management
Peter Terkula Anande, Esq. is a seasoned technocrat and Human Resource Manager per excellence. He is from Vandeikya Local Government of Benue State. He attended Government Secondary School, Tsar, School of Basic Studies Makurdi and the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he obtain B.A.(Hons) in Administration.

His quest for acquisition of more knowledge and enlightenment spurred him to undertake a course in Law where he earned an LLB at the University of Abuja. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Abuja where he was conferred with BL in 2007. He is thus a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Read more...


Dr. S. O. Akinshola

Director Educational Research Centre
Dr. Olakunle S. Akinsola, is the Director Educational Research Centre. He is a PhD degree holder in Educational Evaluation and has also distinguished himself as a specialist in the field of Educational Research Measurement and Evaluation within and outside NERDC.

He has over twenty (20) papers presented in local and international conferences and over sixty Five (65) publications in local and international journals, mostly in the areas of Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness and Students’ Achievement in Science and Mathematics Education. Read more...

Dr. Garba Dahiru Gandu: B.A Combined Honors(History/Hausa); M.A Hausa (Language/Linguistics); PhD (African Languages/Linguistics); Graduate Certificate (Reading); Bachelor of Law (LLB); Barrister at Law, (BL); Foundation, and Proficiency Certificates in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Dr. Nkechinyere Adiele

Director Language Development Centre
DR Nkechinyere Adiele is a Director of Research with specialisation in language and linguistics, language in communication, curriculum and instructional material development and Reading. Dr Nkechi Adiele has over three decades of experience in language research, development and documentation, as well as applied linguistics, pedagogy, material development, reading, translation services. She garnered these experiences working under the Language Development Centre and other policy adhoc schedules in Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

She has participated in research projects, served in different capacities as Resource Person and Co- ordinator in workshops on language and linguistics, curriculum, reading, teacher capacity building, and gender sensitivity and empowerment .she has attended and organized many local and international conferences, training, seminars and workshops. she has co-authored books and published several academic papers in both national and international journals. Dr. Mandela Ayodele ASEBIOMO

Director Library and Informatics Centre
Dr Mandela Ayodele ASEBIOMO FCRSA, MCOF, MSTAN holds NCE (Maths/Chemistry), BSc (Chemistry Education), MEd, PhD (Science/Environmental Education). Born in Ikere Ekiti and educated at Amoye Grammar School, Ikere – Ekiti; College of Education, Ikere – Ekiti; University of Lagos, Akoka; and University of Ilorin, Ilorin respectively. A season classroom teacher who has taught Basic Science and Technology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in many State and Federal Government Colleges across the Country. He also lecture relevant courses in some tertiary institutions across the Country.

He is a member of many National and International academic organizations such as Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), Nigeria Academy of Education (NAE), Association of Evaluational Research and Evaluators of Nigeria (ASSEREN), International Conference of Collaboration of Education Faculties in West Africa (ICCEFWA), International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (IARSA), World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) among others. Mr. Ogunsanya Semiu Afolarin

Director Finance and Accounts
Ogunsanya Semiu Afolarin was born on the 22nd May, 1965 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He completed his primary education at the National Primary School, Abule Ijesha, Yaba-Lagos State in 1979 and, thereafter, proceeded to Gbagada Comprehensive High School, Gbagada, Lagos State where he obtained a General Certificate of Education in 1984.

He obtained his Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in 1992 and 1995 respectively. He also obtained a Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Accountancy from the Nigerian College of Accountancy in 2004. He is a Professional Accountant and a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria. He is also an Associate member of Nigerian Institute of Management and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is a Registered Professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria as well as an Affiliate to ENS Forensic South Africa, Africa's largest Law firm. Read more...

Umar Faruk Jatau is a native of Birnin kebbi LGA, Kebbi State Nigeria. A graduate of Computer Science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, a certified Security Consultant and Certified Public Procurement Practioner by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) Abuja Nigeria. His wealth of experience span over several years of hard-work and determination to achieve excellence in both the private and public sectors.

Ogundele, Eunice Modupe FICA, MNIM

Director General Services
Ogundele, Eunice Modupe currently serves as the Head, General Services in the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) Sheda-Abuja. She has her first degree in History from the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (formerly OSUA).

She also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Calabar, Calabar. She went to obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers' Institute and a Master's degree in Educational Planning and Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria. In her quest to gain knowledge, she has attended many conferences, workshop and seminars.

Dr. Judith A. Kanu holds a Ph.D. in Business Education from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. With over 20 years of experience in business education, she is a prominent educator, researcher, and curriculum specialist. Dr. Kanu is notable for her innovative methods in curriculum design, teaching strategies, and research.

Her work includes extensive research and publications on various teaching methodologies in business education and other discipline. She has also facilitated workshops and training sessions for educators, focusing on curriculum development, pedagogical strategies, and teacher development programs. Director/ Head, NERDC North West Zonal Office, Kano.
Mr. Jonathan Taiwo Alebiosu, born on 28th June, 1968 is a native of Erinmope Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He is a graduate of Business Administration and Management. He had his primary and secondary education at Ogijo, Ogun State, National Diploma and Higher National Diploma from the Ondo State (now Rufus Giwa) Polytechnics, Owo. He also possesses a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Jonathan Alebiosu, having worked briefly with some private organizations after graduation, later joined the services of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) Sheda, Abuja as an Administrative Officer. Read more...

Director/ Head, NERDC South East Zonal Office.
Emeka Christian Obi is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in systems analysis, digital solutions, and organizational development. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Since joining the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in April 2006, Emeka has consistently demonstrated his expertise and leadership in the field of information technology. Starting as a Systems Analyst under the Library and Informatics Center, he has risen through the ranks to his current position as Director of the South East Zonal Office, overseeing operations across all five states in South Eastern Nigeria.
