Head General Services
INTRODUCTION
The General Services Department is one of the non-Academic Service Departments in the Council. The Department was created in 2011, following the restructuring of entities in the Council and the approval of the Honorable Minister of State for Education (as the supervising Minister), in the absence of the Governing Board, in line with the extant policy. The restructuring exercise was occasioned by the dire need for improved performance, effective and efficient service and enhanced growth and development of the Council, in line with global best practices.
The Department has two broad divisions namely, Maintenance Division and General Services Division respectively. The Department is head by a Director.
MANDATES / FUNCTIONS / ACTIVITIES
The mandate/functions of the Department are as spelt out in Council’s Circular dated 1st June, 2016. These include:
- Maintenance function, which entails maintenance of building, plants and equipment; and
- General Services function, which comprises supervision of Security Services, Store Management, Utility services and Transport Administration.
