Director Finance and Accounts Profile

Mr. Ahmed Baba Ibrahim was born on the 30th November, 1962 in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government, Adamawa State. He attended St Theresa Primary School, Jimeta-Yola from 1969 to 1975 and thereafter proceeded to Government Teachers College, Yola where he obtained a Teachers Grade II Certificate.

Mr. Ibrahim attended Bayero University Kano and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1985. At the university, he won the UAC Plc prestigious scholarship as the best undergraduate accounting student. He is a professional Accountant and a fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI). He has a Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance and presently pursuing a PhD programme in the same field of study. He specialized in Public Finance with keen interest in Public Debt Management.

After his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 1986, he was employed as Graduate Assistant in the University of Maiduguri and posted to Modibbo Adamawa Campus, Yola. He was, subsequently, redeployed to the Bursary Department when the campus was converted to Federal University of Technology, Yola in 1988. He withdrew his service from the University in 1992 and joined Commerce Bank Plc. He served briefly in the bank and moved to Inland Containers Nigeria Ltd (ICNL). He joined the Nigerian Telecommunication Ltd (NITEL) after spending five (5) years in ICNL and rose to the rank of Deputy General Manager in Charge of key Customer Accounts. He resigned his appointment with NITEL in 2007 and was employed as Deputy Director (Finance) in NERDC. He held the position until 2011 when he got promoted to the position of Director, Finance and Accounts. He is also the Head of the Department.

He enjoys sports, reading and traveling. He is married with children.
