BOARD APPROVES REVISED CRITERIA FOR RESEARCH OFFICERS’ PUBLICATION FOR PROMOTION
The Governing Board of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), at its 2020 meeting approved the revised criteria for the assessment of Research Officers’ Publications for promotion. This was to ensure that publications for assessment for the promotion of research officers is at par with best practices in Nigeria.
In the same meeting, the Board approved the promotion of staff of the Council who excelled in the 2019 promotion exercise.
The outcome of the promotion exercise showed that 38 Junior staff and 64 non-academic staff were promoted alongside 17 academic staff while 2 non-academic staff were not successful. Again, the exercise led to the emergence of a new Director of Research in the person of Dr. Grace Ajagun and four new Deputy Directors namely; Mr. Afolarin Semiu Ogunsanya, Mr. Jonathan Taiwo Alebiosu, Mr. Christian Emeka Obi and Mr. Faruk Umar Jatau. Also, five non-academic staff were converted and upgraded to officer cadre after successfully acquiring higher academic qualifications.
